Hazelwood Farm is our second location. It was founded in 2021, with the goal of creating a healing community for both animals and humans. Here at the farm, we offer equine assisted psychotherapy, nature based therapy, and group workshops
Meet Our Family
Hazel
The mare who started it all. When Hazel first came to the farm, she hid her emotions behind a mask of obedience. As she began to feel safer in our company, she began expressing herself more freely. As she “woke up”, it became clear that she had experienced more trauma than any creature should have to endure. Her anger, grief, and fear manifested in dangerous behaviors, and sparked a multi-year journey to earn her trust, heal her nervous system, and help her remember who she was. Today, Hazel is a kind and skillful healer of adults and children alike.
Xena
Xena is a 20 year old warmblood mare, with a heart as large as she is. While she can no longer be ridden due to chronic lameness, she has made it clear that she would like to continue working with clients from the ground. She has a special affinity for children, and she finds joy and purpose in this work.
Nola
Nola is a 20 year old thoroughbred mare, who brings a quiet steadiness to the barn.
